The club is open to members of all abilities which is nice as those looking to enter their first event will be made welcome and able to get some solid advice from the seasoned members of the club. While more experienced triatheletes will be able to fit right in.
Daily Training Sessions
The Exeter Tri Club has a busy training schedule with something on every night of the week whether it be swimming, running or cycling. They even hold open water swimming sessions during the summer which are replaced by pool swimming during the colder months to help you get ready for the swim stages of your next triathlon. As the outdoor swimming ceases in the winter you probably won’t need to bring your triathlon wetsuit! Other nights include city running and evening bike rides around a two mile long circuit with various obstacles. Weekend endurance sessions are often held and there is a once a year training camp to Lanzarote’s Club La Santa for those looking to train in warmer climes. Even kids are catered for with a junior section for 8-16 year olds.
You do have to pay to join but get a number of benefits for singing up besides access to the training sessions and advice from the team. These benefits include discounts at local sports shops which should save you money on your triathlon equipment.
This seems like a great club with loads going on. Their website even has an active forum for members to keep in touch and network when not training. So if you are based in Exeter or the surrounding areas get intouch with the team and the Exeter triathlon club.
